Legal Secretary

Professional Snapshot

A little insight into how they work, what they specialise in, and how they support clients day to day.

What does your day-to-day life at HPartners look like?

I’m a legal secretary, and my day really depends on what lands on my desk. I draft and proofread documents, manage files, liaise with clients, and coordinate meetings — all with the goal of making the lawyers’ lives as easy as possible. And yes, sometimes that includes a strategic coffee run to keep the wheels turning. What motivated you to get into your line of work? My motivation came from being naturally organised and meticulous (some might say perfectionist). Pair that with a genuine interest in certain areas of law, and it made becoming a legal secretary a pretty easy career choice. What personal or professional values do you bring to your role? I’d say I bring a mix of reliability, honesty and a splash of humour to my role.

How would your clients or colleagues describe you in 3 words?

Not to toot my own horn, but I think most would describe me as efficient, reliable, and organised.

What’s something clients might be surprised to learn about you?

People are usually surprised when I say I have no plans to do a law degree. While I have huge amount of respect for all lawyers, I’ve found my strengths (and happiness) come from supporting them behind the scenes to achieve their goals.
